Sky Sports News reports that Hull City duo Alex Bruce and James Weir will join Wigan Athletic until the end of the current campaign.

The Tigers look set for a busy deadline day but it is not only new arrivals as the fringe pair head to pastures new in pursuit of regular first-team football.

Wigan need all the reinforcements they can get as they bid to climb away from the Championship relegation zone and the centre-back and winger will be fine temporary additions.

In other news, Sky Sports News is also reporting that Aston Villa midfielder Ashley Westwood has completed his medical ahead of a move to Burnley.

Westwood has often been the subject of some Villa fans’ ire but he now looks to be heading back to the Premier League with Sean Dyche’s side.

Moving on, the Mirror claims Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho will have to take a significant pay cut to seal a move in the next few hours.

The report claims Liverpool only want to sell the player, rather than loan him out, and with the Reds seeking £20million for the French international, the likelihood of a move to Crystal Palace could hinge on whether he is willing to reduce his £100,000-a-week wages.
