Erik Sviatchenko has admitted to the Celtic Star that he has become a Celtic fan, after playing for the club.

Sviatchenko represented Celtic between 2016 and 2018, making 63 appearances for the Bhoys in total.

The £2 million Danish defender (Karadeniz Gazette) simply loved his time in Glasgow, and he now follows Celtic from afar.

“As a youngster, that would probably be Chelsea. Or Real Madrid. Now of course, it would be Midtjylland and Celtic,” Sviatchenko said, when asked what football club he supported.

Sviatchenko has actually talked up a potential return to Celtic, but whether that move would ever happen is highly doubtful.

Although Sviatchenko did show signs of quality during his time at Parkhead, he also struggled with injury at times.

Celtic are not in any great need to add at centre-back currently either, with their defensive options looking strong at the moment.

Sviatchenko is currently playing for FC Midtjylland, and he has made 24 appearances for them so far this season.
