It’s been a mixed spell out on loan for Arsenal centre-back Dinos Mavropanos.

The Greece international has been injured for a chunk of his stint with Bundesliga outfit Stuttgart and even when he is fit, he struggles to finish the game.

Mavropanos, a £2 million signing by Arsenal almost three years ago, has started five league games for the German side, but hasn’t finished any of them.

And it was a similar story last night.

Stuttgart drew 2-2 with Union Berlin but the Gunners powerhouse was taken off after 53 minutes.

Normally if a centre-back is removed at that point in the game, it would often be an injury but considering he was withdrawn at half-time 10 days earlier, it’s more than likely another tactical decision.

Going by the stats, Mavropanos wasn’t having a stormer and appeared to lose possession on 11 occasions.

It’s been a pretty up and down stint for the big defender and injuries aside, he’ll be determined to begin starting and finishing the games from here on in.
