Fabrizio Romano has said on his YouTube channel that N’Golo Kante will leave Chelsea, amid speculation that Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur want to sign him.
The well-known and well-respected journalist has reported that he has been informed that Kane is expected to leave Chelsea at the end of the season when his current contract with the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners runs out.
FootMercato reported in October that Arsenal and Tottenham are interested in Kante and are possible options for the 31-year-old central midfielder.
Romano said, as transcribed by TBR: “The only way for Kante to stay at Chelsea is if Graham Potter will decide to keep him. But, as of now, the financial agreement is not in place between Chelsea and Kante.
“An important point to mention is N’Golo Kante would love to stay at Chelsea. He loves London, he loves the club, he loves the fans. He has a great relationship with all his teammates. So Kante would love to stay at the club.
“But the reality is that at the moment, there is still no agreement between the two parties. And this is why the expectation of those close to the player’s side and the club’s side is for N’Golo Kante to leave on a free. Big opportunity for many clubs.”

Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante would be brilliant for Tottenham or Arsenal
In our opinion, Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante would be a great signing for Tottenham Hotspur or Arsenal in the summer of 2023, especially on a free transfer.
Yes, the 31-year-old has had injury problems in recent years, but Kante remains a player who can dominate proceedings in the middle of the park and is hugely experienced.
Kante has proved himself in the Premier League and in the UEFA Champions League, and there is no doubt that he will be committed on the pitch for whichever club he plays.
Yes, the Frenchman is earning £290,000 per week (SalarySport) at Chelsea at the moment and that is a lot of money, but that is the going rate for elite players these days.
And Kante, described as “extraordinary” by former Chelsea and Arsenal star Emmanuel Petit in 90mi. last month, is elite.
