The Frenchman has made more saves than any other shot stopper in the top flight.
After eight Premier League games, it is perhaps unsurprising to see that Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris leads the goalkeeping charts in terms of the number of saves he has made.
The Frenchman has made 29 – two more than Vito Mannone and Kasper Schmeichel and three more than Adrian and Robert Green. Of those, 19 have been diving saves, while Lloris has come off his line to good effect four times.
Lloris also has a reasonably favourable goal kick accuracy and has made 38 accurate throws.
But what does that mean for Spurs?

As Opta stats show, you will struggle to find a better goalkeeper than the 27-year-old in the top flight – and perhaps across the rest of Europe or the world.
Consider where that leaves Tottenham, however. Mauricio Pochettino’s side have struggled for form so far this term and conceded plenty. Even with Lloris’s saves.
Against Manchester City, meanwhile, a 4-1 defeat could have easily been 7-1. Not because of Spurs’ overall display but because City were allowed several key chances. Lloris was there to stop them.
The signs, then, aren’t good for the north London side if Lloris is having to save them just as damage limitation. Many supporters, meanwhile, are worried that the Frenchman may finally get frustrated by the lack of quality that often surrounds him.
If he keeps having to bail Spurs out, how long before the 27-year-old decides enough is enough?
