But speculation is rife that the Premier League champions are interested in Sven Botman.
According to Foot Mercato, Liverpool are keen on the 20-year-old Dutchman, who could leave Lille for as little as £27 million, the French report claimed in December.
And the young powerhouse hasn’t done much to quell rumours about his future.
On Instagram, Botman uploaded a boomerang video in his agent’s office, followed by a love heart emoji and another of a handshake – perhaps suggesting a deal?
It could be nothing but, with the transfer window open, linked-away players must take extra care when uploading things on social media by virtue of how it could be considered a hint.
On this occasion, what the reported Liverpool target has posted certainly is interesting and it remains to be seen what happens over the coming weeks.
