Davinson Sanchez has been hailed as an ‘incredible defender’ after leaving Tottenham Hotspur for Galatasaray over the summer.
Tottenham Hotspur allowed Davinson Sanchez to leave last month and he will now face Manchester United tonight.
Spurs were seemingly trying to sell Sanchez for much of the summer but struggled to get a deal over the line.
Tottenham did accept a £12.9million bid from Spartak Moscow but Sanchez wasn’t keen on a move to Russia.
The English transfer deadline passed without a deal but Spurs did well Sanchez just days later, offloading him to Galatasaray for around £12.8million.

Davinson Sanchez hailed in Turkish media after Tottenham exit
Sanchez still has plenty left in the tank; he’s only 27 and still has some developing to do in Turkey.
The early signs seem positive with the Colombian winning both of his Galatasaray appearances so far.
Sanchez will now return to England tonight, surely lining up in the Galatasaray starting lineup to take on Manchester United in the Champions League.
Ahead of the game at Old Trafford, Milliyet reporter Nevzat Dindar has given his early verdict on Sanchez.
Dindar has praised Sanchez as an ‘incredible defender’ but admits that he can be a little ‘risky’ at times.
Dindar highlighted that he thinks Sanchez is the one Galatasaray centre back who should definitely be starting with Abdülkerim Bardakci or Viktor Nelsson alongside him.
There is an acceptance that Sanchez needs to be less risky, especially in big games against teams like United this evening.
“Davinson Sanchez is an incredible defender, but he plays a risky game,” said Dindar. “We saw this in one or two positions in the Ankaragücü match. Sanchez is the defender that I call ‘the one’, but he needs to play less risky and be controlled.”
“Having good feet is an advantage for Galatasaray. The ideal duo would be Sanchez-Abdülkerim. I think he is durable, strong and, compared to Nelsson, having a good touch with the ball is an advantage, but he takes a lot of risks. We need to be more careful in the European arena,” he added.

Tottenham selling Sanchez was a surprise
An exit looked nailed-on over the summer but the timing of Tottenham’s decision to sell Sanchez was a shock.
Tottenham aren’t exactly blessed with defensive depth behind Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven, especially with Eric Dier out of favour under Ange Postecoglou.
Letting Sanchez go outside of the English transfer window felt like Tottenham were leaving themselves short of senior options at the back.
Sanchez’s pace could also have been a good fit in Postecoglou’s system and he showed his ability to come in when needed against Brentford on the opening weekend of the season.
Spurs will have viewed this as a chance to cash in before Sanchez moved on for nothing in 2024, but they will be praying for no defensive injuries between now and January.
