Christopher Jullien has posted a brief injury update on Instagram for Celtic fans.

The towering Hoops defender was ruled out for four months with a knee injury following a win over Dundee United after Christmas.

And it seems unlikely that Celtic supporters will see him again this season.

The big French centre-back remains in a knee brace and hasn’t ditched the crutches yet, with both visible in the photo he uploaded on social media:

A number of Celtic team-mates ‘liked’ the snap but one, Ismaila Soro, responded to it.

Soro’s response was posted in French but read: “I know that you will come back even more ready and solid than before. Strength and courage my solider.”

Even Celtic fans might admit that there isn’t much point in rushing him back.

It’d be different if Neil Lennon’s side were going for 10 in a row, but the Bhoys, who have won the last nine Premiership titles, are trailing Rangers at the summit by 18 points.

Steven Gerrard’s side need only four more wins to guarantee a 55th title at Ibrox and therefore it’s illogical to try accelerate Jullien’s healing process.
