Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg claims that he hasn’t been given an explanation for his lack of starts.
Ange Postecoglou seemingly hasn’t moved to explain Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s reduced role this season.
Tottenham went for a huge change by appointing Postecoglou as the replacement for Antonio Conte.
Postecoglou loves to play attacking football and the gung-ho approach has been a welcome change from Conte-ball.
That has resulted in bigger roles for Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr in midfield, but subsequently fewer minutes for Højbjerg.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg comments on Tottenham situation
Højbjerg was a mainstay under Conte but has now failed to start a single Premier League game so far this season.
The 28-year-old has been limited to just 126 minutes of Premier League action across seven substitute appearances.
This is a major comedown for Hojbjerg and he has now admitted that he hasn’t really been given an explanation.
Hojbjerg has told Ekstrabladet that he hasn’t had dialogue with boss Postecoglou to explain why he isn’t in the team right now.
The former Bayern Munich man vowed to be honest about his communication with Postecoglou but claims he doesn’t really need to hear a reason.
Hojbjerg is instead just focusing on working hard and getting back into the Tottenham team as he attempts to change Postecoglou’s mind.
“I don’t have that dialogue, I must be honest. My approach to it is to keep the focus on the things I can do something about,” said Hojbjerg. “I must be ready to help the team if I am called upon. So I make sure to train well and keep my nose on track.”
“We play a new kind of football than we did last year, and we have got a new coaching team. Things work really well. We are in a very good position in the league, even though it is only a short time into the season, and we are making really good progress. So it’s about following along. I haven’t played as much as I’m used to, but it’s also something you take with you and have to accept and learn from.”
“When I played a little more, I didn’t need someone coming every day to pat me on the back or point fingers at me. I don’t need someone to guide me every day. So it doesn’t bother me that much. It’s simple from my side. I try to make myself relevant, but I’m not the one who sets the team, so I can only do my part to make it difficult for the coach,” he added.

Hojbjerg exit in 2024 surely on the cards
Hojbjerg is likely to be in the Tottenham starting lineup against next Monday with Bissouma suspended for the clash with Fulham.
Maybe that will lead to more starts going forward, but it instead seems more likely that Hojbjerg will be on the move.
Corriere dello Sport reported earlier in October that Manchester United, Juventus and Atletico Madrid all fancy signing Hojbjerg.
A £26million asking price is allegedly on Hojbjerg’s head with Tottenham seemingly willing to sell.
Whether Postecoglou thinks that Hojbjerg doesn’t fit his style of play or Tottenham just believe it’s good business to sell, we think the Dane will end up being sold in 2024.
