Former Rangers midfielder Lewis MacLeod has revealed that he could be interested in a return to Scotland.
The 26-year-old, who spent 11 years on the Gers’ books, is a free agent after being released by Wigan.
When the Latics’ financial problems came to light earlier this summer, Rangers fans expressed a desire on Twitter to see MacLeod – and team-mate Josh Windass – return to Ibrox.
In terms of talent, the former Brentford star is one of the best that the Auchenhowie academy has produced over the past decade.
And MacLeod has intimated a return to Scotland could be on the cards, telling The Record: “I’ve not decided on if I want to stay in England or look into coming back to Scotland. I’m keeping my options open; open to whatever.
“Teams are back in training at different times and we need to wait and see what happens with the leagues restarting.”
Do Rangers need him? Well, probably not.
Steven Gerrard has an abundance of quality midfielders at his disposal and that’s just not a position that the light Blues boss is focusing on.
