Tottenham Hotspur supporters have probably forgotten all about Giovani lo Celso.
And really, it’s understandable.
Antonio Conte loaned him out for the second half of the 2021-22 campaign and in the summer, the Argentina international left Tottenham again to Villarreal on a season-long arrangement.
It’s been nearly a year since he last pulled on a Spurs shirt.
But fans of the North Londoners would’ve been reminded of Lo Celso in the World Cup, only for the fact that he is now not going following a heartbreaking blow.

The former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder will be left out of the Argentina squad due to injury, according to TyC Sports in South America.
Injuries are nothing new to Lo Celso and Conte is reported to have wanted him gone in North London due to believing he isn’t strong enough physically [Estadio Deportivo].
This is the second piece of bad news for the Argentine on a personal level, after Unai Emery left Villarreal for Aston Villa toward the end of last month.
Emery is the manager who seems to have got the 26-year-old back to his best in Spain and time will tell whether he can maintain that standard without the Spanish coach at El Madrigal.
Lo Celso has scored eight goals in 84 appearances for Tottenham and has played under Jose Mourinho, Mauricio Pochettino, Nuno Espirito Santo and Conte, who will probably be the final head coach he played under.
