It was reported by The Express in June that Liverpool had held talks over signing Kai Havertz.
The Bayer Leverkusen attacker is one of the most exciting young players in Europe and seems destined for bigger things.
Havertz, who only turned 21 last month, has since been linked to some of Liverpool’s Premier League rivals.
But going by comments from Leverkusen team-mate Wendell, the Reds should be buoyed.
The Brazilian has told YG Foot that Havertz has his heart set on a move to England as his next move.
Wendell says that the young German ‘dreams’ of playing in the Premier League in a revelation that could and should interest Liverpool.
He said: “If he goes to the Premier League, he will learn a lot. I think Kai dreams of playing there. He has that desire and I think if he decides to play in England, he will be a success.”
If he genuinely wants a move to England then surely Liverpool must be one of his preferred options.
That’s because they’re the newly-crowned Premier League champions and Jurgen Klopp has previous when it comes to taking players to the next level, so fans of the Anfield club should be feel optimistic about Wendell’s claim.
