Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi wants to keep Serie A winner Stefano Sensi amid reported interest from Antonio Conte’s Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur, speaking to Sport Mediaset.
It was a night when Inter’s second string made their mark.
After being linked with a January move away from the San Siro, the much-maligned Alexis Sanchez has now scored twice in the space of just a few days, following up his last-gasp winner in the Supercup victory over Juventus with the opener in Wednesday’s Coppa Italia meeting with Empoli.
Seldom-seen centre-back Andrea Ranocchia, meanwhile, took the game to extra-time with an acrobatic volley Inter team-mate Lautaro Martinez would have been proud of.
The moment of the match, however, belonged not to Sanchez, not to Ranocchia, but to Sensi.
Will Stefano Sensi thrive under Conte at Tottenham?
Conte paid £25 million to sign early on in his Nerazzuri reign.
90Min say that the now-Tottenham boss is keen to reunite with one of his title-winning charges in North London.
But on a night when Steven Bergwijn breathed fresh life into his ailing Spurs career with a last-gasp brace to defeat Leicester City, another out-of-favour talent stepped off the bench to win a game with a moment of supreme quality.
“We know there are some rumours about the transfer market,” says Inzaghi, excitement crackling in the air following Sensi’s 104th minute screamer (TMW).

“He’s a strong player with quality. If he wants to stay, I will gladly keep him. He is a weapon that we have at our disposal and I am happy that he scored.”
“He’s a great player,” adds team-mate and captain-on-the-night Ranocchia.
“He came on despite the rumours (about his future). He played a great game and scored. Everyone likes him. I’m happy for him.”
Conte described Sensi as an ‘extraordinary’ talent during their time together at the San Siro. He was full of praise for the the Italian’s ability to implement his meticulous tactical plans on the pitch.
One would presume, then, that Sensi would be able to adapt to life at Spurs relatively quickly.
