Tottenham Hotspur reportedly tried to sign Tammy Abraham.

Tottenham Hotspur made an audacious deadline day attempt to sign Tammy Abraham, report Goal.

£25 million was not enough for Spurs to convince Chelsea to sell the promising striker, who is yet to play for the Blues this season.

Abraham has not discussed the rumours, but he has previously admitted to being a big fan of Tottenham striker Harry Kane.

The England under-21 international has said that Kane’s loan spells have given him hope that mixed fortunes in his career can be turned around.

Abraham was prolific at academy level, scored more than 20 goals in the Championship for Bristol City, but failed to hit double figures in the Premier League for Swansea City.

Tammy Abraham of Swansea City looks frustrated during the Premier League match between Arsenal and Swansea City at Emirates Stadium on October 28, 2017 in London, England.

Abraham told the Daily Mirror earlier this year: “Harry is a player I’ve always looked up to and one of the greatest strikers so I obviously follow his past.

“What he’s been through gives me confidence that there is a light at the end of every tunnel.”

A move to Tottenham is unlikely for Abraham given the fact Chelsea see them as a direct rival, and the clashes between the two clubs in the past off the field.

Yet if the opportunity was to present itself, Abraham would surely be tempted by the chance to link up with England’s number one striker.
