There isn’t much to report regarding Arsenal summer signings at the moment.
In fact, things are moving so slowly that Mikel Arteta, the Gunners boss, is reportedly getting annoyed at the club’s transfer fixers.
Arsenal have been linked with a move to sign Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus for weeks and now the player has been urged to join Chelsea – who have made contact with the Brazilian – instead.
In midfield, the North Londoners are said to be very confident about signing Youri Tielemans from Leicester City in what could be a £25 million agreement, considering his contract expires next summer.
But even that one is moving at a snail pace as well and talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook believes there’s some doubt over whether Arteta will get the Belgium international, who is on record as saying that he wants to be playing in the Champions League.

Crook has told Give Me Sport: “Tielemans is interesting because he wants Champions League football. Had Arsenal held onto a place in the top four, that deal would probably be done. The fact they didn’t make it has cast a little bit of a doubt.”
Supporters of the North London outfit will hope that their failure to qualify for the Champions League doesn’t have knock-on effects for transfer targets.
Being pipped to fourth place by Tottenham Hotspur, their bitter rivals, is bad enough.
But it’s another level of bitter pill territory if that horrific end-of-season form results in in Arsenal missing out on players, too.
