Since Antonio Conte replaced Nuno Espirito Santo at Tottenham, there have been signs of the Italian having a positive impact in north London.

Spurs have only lost once under Conte, albeit an embarrassing UEFA Conference League defeat to Mura.

Despite this upturn, there are still some players who are yet to show any signs of improvement under the 52-year-old.

In that respect, here are three players who simply have to get better under Conte, or they potentially face the exit door…

Dele Alli

Whatever Dele Alli has been doing in training clearly hasn’t been enough to impress Conte.

The 25-year-old has only played two minutes of Premier League football since Conte’s arrival, and his Tottenham career is in real jeopardy.

Alli failed to rediscover his old form under José Mourinho, Ryan Mason and Nuno, so this could well be his last chance to salvage his Spurs career.

Ryan Sessegnon

Ryan Sessegnon is yet to show supporters why Daniel Levy spent £25m on him, although he is someone who should thrive in Conte’s wing-back system.

Sadly, he’s already blown one major chance to impress, as he received a red card after just 31 minutes against Mura.

Sergio Reguilon, his direct competitor at left wing-back, has also thrived in Conte’s early days, so Sessegnon has plenty of work to do under the Italian.

Tanguy Ndombele

According to The Athletic, Tanguy Ndombele wanted to leave Tottenham back in the summer.

A more recent report from SPORT suggested that was still the case, as they claimed the Frenchman is unhappy in N17.

Conte – as he famously told Thierry Henry – is a manager who prefers to “kill” players who have no interest in giving their all for him.

In that respect, if Ndombele doesn’t get his head down and turn his Spurs career around with the Italian at the helm, it could well be curtains for him in 2022.
