Joao Felix does not fancy a move to Unai Emery’s Aston Villa, which will come as a boost to Newcastle United’s chances of signing the former Chelsea loanee.

According to Marca, Aston Villa want to sign Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix, a player also on the radar of Newcastle United.

However, Felix, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Chelsea from Atletico, wants to move to a club that will play in the UEFA Champions League next season.

The 23-year-old, who can operate as a forward, winger or attacking midfielder, reportedly does not fancy a move to Villa.

Felix’s stance on his future will encourage Newcastle.

Earlier this month, The Chronicle reported that Felix has been offered to Newcastle.

The Magpies will play in the UEFA Champions League next season after finishing in the top four of the Premier League table last campaign.

Newcastle will reportedly have to pay a loan fee of £11 million for the £250,000-a-week (The Sun) youngster.

Newcastle United more likely than Aston Villa to sign Joao Felix

In our opinion, Newcastle United are more likely than Aston Villa to be able to sign Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid in the summer transfer window.

The 23-year-old is used to challenging for the La Liga title and competing in the UEFA Champions League.

While Villa are a big and established club in the Premier League, Unai Emery’s side are unlikely to end up in the top four anytime soon.

Newcastle are going places under owners, Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), and manager Eddie Howe.

The Magpies will be determined to finish in the Premier League top four again next season and make themselves regulars in the UEFA Champions League in the coming years.

We believe that Felix would find that very appealing.
