It sounds as though Arsenal will be busy in the final 48 hours of the transfer window.

The Gunners have been linked with a winger for months and with the likes of Pedro Neto and Mykhaylo Mudryk linked in recent days, the north London club could well move for a new wide player in the final days of the window.

However, according to The Athletic, the Gunners could now also move for a midfielder in the wake of a seemingly serious injury to Mohammed Elneny, and, in our view, there may only be one name in the picture here.

We’re talking about Youri Tielemans.

Arsenal have been linked with Tielemans for the longest time now. So many reports have stated that he’s their top midfield target, but the Gunners have been hesitating to pull the trigger on a new midfield signing for some reason.

However, now Arsenal are almost being forced to bolster that area of the pitch, and a move for Tielemans would make so much sense.

The Belgian would be available for cheap as he’s in the final year of his contract, he’s a brilliantly-talented player, and he wants to join Arsenal, with some claiming that he is in fact waiting for Arsenal to make a move for him.

Tielemans has been forced to wait and wait and wait for this proposed transfer, and now, with Elneny’s injury, it seems as though the Gunners’ offer for the midfielder may finally arrive at his table.

As awful as injuries are for any footballer, Tielemans could end up being the big winner after Elneny went down as that domino falling could see Mikel Arteta’s side move for the 25-year-old before the window slams shut on Thursday.
