The Brighton and Hove Albion star would be an ideal signing for Everton this summer.

Toffees boss Ronald Koeman has his work cut-out if he is to guide his side to a finish inside the Champions League spots next season, and he will have to bring in plenty of quality signings if he has any chance of doing just that.

The Dutchman will have to look at bolstering his attacking options, with Romelu Lukaku almost certain to leave and Ross Barkley’s future at Everton seemingly growing ever more uncertain by the day.

With this in mind, the Blues should consider a move for Brighton’s outstanding play-maker Anthony Knockaert, after the Frenchman proved his quality with a sustained run of sensational performances this term.

The left-footed 25-year-old was deployed in the right-wing role for the entirety of the Seagulls’ 2016/17 Championship campaign, scoring 15 goals and chipping in with eight assists in 45 league outings for Chris Hughton’s men.

Whilst the Premier League represents an obvious jump up in class, the former Leicester man’s quality is such that he will be more than capable of producing equally scintillating displays next term in the top flight.

The Brighton man would offer Koeman another option down the right flank, and provide much-needed competition for Yannick Bolasie, when the Congolese star returns from injury.

He is technically brilliant, and has a powerful left-foot shot that Premier League goalkeepers will be dreading having to face next season.

He will not come cheap, however.

Knockaert moved to the south coast outfit from Standard Liege in January 2016, and still has two more years left to run on his current deal with Brighton.

Chris Hughton considers him to be invaluable to his Seagulls side, and will surely try to resist any approaches for his star man.

Everton are in a far superior financial position than Brighton though, and would be well capable of offering the south coast side an amount of money that would be extremely hard to refuse.
