The Finland international has been in fine form for Brondby.
Celtic’s Teemu Pukki looks dejected
Celtic have certainly not found it hard scoring goals this season. Moussa Dembele, Scott Sinclair and Stuart Armstrong have been scoring at will for the club this term in what has been a dominant campaign in Scottish football.
But Celtic fans will be surprised to hear that one of their former strikers has had an equally as impressive campaign.
When the Bhoys signed Finnish international Teemu Pukki from Schalke 04 in 2013 they felt they’d signed a gem. He scored on his debut but soon enough the goals and his form left him. He managed just nine goals in 37 games for Celtic before joining Danish side Brondby, initially on loan, in 2014.
His form picked up with the Danish side but this season it has moved into another gear. He has scored 25 goals in 36 games for the club this season, including six goals in eight Europa League appearances.
Teemu Pukki in action for Finland
Pukki admitted when struggling at Celtic that he had taken the Scottish league lightly but is now clearly thriving in Denmark.
Perhaps a move to a big European league is on the horizon for the former Celtic flop.
