Liverpool and Manchester United are expected to submit a bid for Randal Kolo Muani after his stunning efforts so far this season.

That is according to Bild in Germany, who believe the Eintracht Frankfurt No.9 has caught the eye of Jürgen Klopp and Erik ten Hag.

Kolo Muani has remarkably scored 15 goals – while also providing 14 assists – in just 31 appearances this season after joining Eintracht Frankfurt on a free transfer from Nantes.

However, the France international’s season took a nightmarish turn on Tuesday evening.

What’s the story?

Well, the 24-year-old was given a straight red card in Eintracht Frankfurt’s biggest game of the season so far, as the Bundesliga side suffered a 2-0 defeat to Napoli in the Champions League Round of 16.

There is – of course – a second leg to turn things around, although Kolo Muani will be suspended for it.

The Frenchman followed through on the right ankle of André-Frank Zambo Anguissa in the 58th minute of the Round of 16 clash, which prompted Artur Dias to give him his marching orders.

It represents a significant blow to the German outfit as well as Kolo Muani, who is now suspended for the crucial second leg at a time where his side need their talisman most.

Liverpool & Manchester United face huge fee for Kolo Muani

If Klopp or Ten Hag are to sign Kolo Muani, it will cost them a significant amount of money.

Bild added in their initial report that Eintracht Frankfurt will consider bids of £89m for their No.9 this summer.

That would represent a club-record fee for Liverpool, overtaking the £85m spent on Darwin Nunez, while it would fall just short of Manchester United’s record deal, which is the £89.3m spent on Paul Pogba.

Be sure to keep an eye on Kolo Muani this summer, as – despite his red card – he has done more than enough this season to earn a major transfer.
