Liverpool fans, remember Pedro Chirivella? The 24-year-old left Anfield on a free transfer back in June 2020 to join Nantes, where he is thriving.
What’s the story?
Well, some impressive displays from Chirivella in the domestic cup competitions were not enough to keep him at Liverpool.
The Spaniard shone in a 1-0 win over Everton in the FA Cup, alongside the likes of James Milner, Divock Origi and Curtis Jones.
Chirivella also starred in the fourth round replay against Shrewsbury, which Liverpool won by a 1-0 scoreline at Anfield.
Eventually, after a chat with Klopp, the Valencia-born playmaker decided to join Nantes, as it was made clear his contract would not be extended.
While that news may have upset Chirivella at the time, he’ll surely be delighted that he made the move to Nantes, where he’s playing the best football of his career.
How is Pedro Chirivella doing away from Liverpool?

Impressively, the Spaniard is taking to life in Ligue 1 like a duck to water.
Chirivella has made 11 appearances in France’s top flight this season, scoring twice while also providing one assist.
Ligue 1’s official website even published a lengthy feature on his brilliance, describing him as an ‘essential cog’ for Nantes.
They add that he’s also completed more passes than any of his teammates.

His efforts have Nantes sat comfortably in ninth place, with 17 points to their name in Ligue 1.
Interestingly, they have improved significantly from the side who had to go through a Play-Off just to avoid relegation last season.
After some tough times at Liverpool, it’s great to see Chirivella thriving.
