Odsonne Edouard has been pretty hit and miss for Celtic this season.
So far, the French hitman has netted 17 goals across all competitions, but last term he bagged 29 despite the fact that the campaign came to an early finish.
That right there illustrates that he isn’t quite as lethal for Celtic this time around as the Parkhead faithful – and Neil Lennon – know he can be.
But Jason Kerr, who comes up against the former Paris Saint-Germain youngster this weekend, is still well aware that he’ll have to be on his toes.
The St Johnstone defender is bracing himself for a very difficult game against the Celtic star and told The Record that he’s one of those players who is perhaps more worrying to defend against when he’s ‘standing still’.
He said: “I think he is one of those players who is more worrying when he’s standing still. You might take your eye off him and then next thing you know he’s running at you with the ball or in behind.”
Lennon’s side are 18 points behind runaway Premiership leaders Rangers and that sort of deficit has to affect Edouard’s hunger.
But on his day, he might be the best goalscorer in Scottish football and Kerr will be desperately hoping to see him endure an off-day this weekend.
