A look at Alex Pritchard’s season so far.
Tottenham Hotspur loanee Alex Pritchard is enjoying an impressive adaptation to life in the Championship.
He performed strongly at League One side Swindon Town last season, enough so for promoted Brentford to convince Tottneham to loan him out for the season upon their return to the Championship.
Pritchard has featured in every game, gaining valuable experience, and is an improving presence in attack.
The 21-year-old netted his second goal of the season in the division in their 3-1 win over Reading last weekend, helping lift the Bees to an impressive 10th in the table.
A quick look at the figures ‘two goals, one assist’ in 11 games may not seem spectacular, but Pritchard has been unlucky.
As well as attempting 31 efforts on goal, Pritchard has created 24 goalscoring opportunities, a particularly impressive figure. That puts him in the top 15 in the Championship in terms of key passes, 13th overall, and the second highest in the Brentford side.

He is not the only one, but to carve out 24 opportunities and only see one converted must be a little frustrating for not only Pritchard, but his manager too.
Pritchard has been highly rated even before his sensational performance for Tottenham’s NextGen side three seasons ago which saw them thrash Barcelona 4-1. His display that game even saw the Spanish side linked with his signature.
The breakthrough of Ryan Mason into the Tottenham first team this season at 23, shows Pritchard he is not too late to make an impact at Spurs, and if he continues enjoying his football and making the most of playing a prominent role in a so far successful Championship side, there are plenty of reasons to be excited.
