The Scottish Sun reported in December 2019 that Rangers and Celtic are among the clubs who have scouted the United striker this season.
The report also stated that Queens Park Rangers, Norwich City, Brentford and Everton have looked at the 24-year-old as well this season.
Rangers and Celtic could well decide to make moves for the former Queen’s Park striker this summer.
True, both the Gers and the Hoops are well stocked in the striker-department, but with United sporting director Tony Asghar recently suggesting to BBC Sport that the club are open to offers for Shankland, the Old Firm clubs could well decide to make bids.
After all, Shankland is only going to make Rangers or Celtic stronger next season and thereafter.
However, Shankland seems to be focused on United at the moment and is already thinking of being successful with them next season.
The Scottish Championship – as well as the Scottish Premiership – has already been called off and decided, with United promoted to the top flight of Scottish football for the 2020-21 campaign.
Shankland told The Daily Record: “The first objective is to secure our place in the Premiership in our first season back.
“If we can get it done early doors then maybe we can sneak into the top six or even better.”
Stats
