Reports began to emanate yesterday regarding the future of Wolves star Helder Costa, with Liverpool said to be keen on bringing him to Anfield in the summer (the Sun).

There will be no shortage of potential suitors for the Portuguese winger, should the Black Country outfit consider selling him.

And Spurs should consider gatecrashing the Reds’ reported interest in the 23-year-old former Benfica man.

He is exactly what the Lilywhites need and would offer something completely different to the options Mauricio Pochettino currently has at his disposal.

Technically gifted, with pace in abundance, Costa has the ability to make such a difference to the Tottenham forward line.

He can play either wide left or wide right, and that in itself would provide Pochettino with more tactical flexibility.

The winger moved to the Molineux on loan in the summer of 2016, but signed for the club permanently during last month’s transfer window and he has been an absolute revelation for Wolves since his move to English football last year.

He has scored 10 goals and chipped in with six assists during his 34 appearances in all competitions so far this season for Paul Lambert’s men.

And his exceptional form has obviously not gone unnoticed.

The main reason why he would be such a good signing for the north London club is that his style of play would perfectly suit the way in which Pochettino likes his side to operate, what with the intense nature of his game.

He would also help take some of the pressure away from Harry Kane from a goalscoring perspective, whilst providing fantastic competition for the likes of Christian Eriksen, Erik Lamela and Son Heung-min.

Spurs will have to move fast if they have any interest of bringing him to White Hart Lane, with so many clubs said to be interested.
