Rangers have just confirmed that Jake Hastie has left the club.
The 23-year-old has quit the Gers to join Hartlepool United.
Hastie signed for Rangers from Motherwell in 2019 but he hadn’t kicked a ball for the senior side in Glasgow since July of that same year.
Ultimately, the Scot struggled in a major way to have a positive impact with the light Blues.
And Barry Ferguson called it.
After Hastie joined Rangers, the Ibrox icon criticised the decision and claimed it was too early to be leaving Fir Park.
Ferguson said to PLZ Soccer, via Football Scotland: “The young boy’s made a decision, do I think it’s the right one? I personally don’t. I’d rather he did what his teammate did, [David] Turnbull, stay there, get good experience and get a lot of games under your belt. But listen, the boy’s made a decision.”
