Manor Solomon was the ideal role model for Celtic winger Liel Abada – and he is now set to sign for Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham Hotspur.

Ange Postecoglou is set to sign another Israeli winger with Manor Solomon on the verge of joining Tottenham.

Spurs have made a decent start to the summer window with Guglielmo Vicario and James Maddison arriving.

Postecoglou still needs more and whilst a centre back is a top priority, Tottenham certainly need another winger too.

Lucas Moura has left Tottenham this summer, Arnaut Danjuma’s loan spell is over and Bryan Gil’s future is unclear.

Adding a wide man for Postecoglou’s 4-3-3 setup is vital and Tottenham are seemingly close to a signing.

Tottenham on the verge of signing Manor Solomon

Tottenham have made Shakhtar Donetsk winger Manor Solomon a top target in recent weeks.

The Athletic reported in May that Tottenham were working on a deal to sign Solomon as his Fulham deal expired.

Solomon suspended his Shakhtar deal last summer amid the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and spent the campaign with Fulham.

Tottenham are now swooping in and the 23-year-old is understood to have snubbed interest from Barcelona and RB Leipzig in favour of joining Spurs.

The deal has taken a couple of delays; a medical was allegedly scheduled for early last week, then moved to Thursday and then moved again to today (Monday 10th July) according to Fabrizio Romano.

Solomon will seemingly complete his move this week and become the latest Israeli winger to play under Postecoglou.

Liel Abada commented on Spurs-bound Solomon

Solomon’s international teammate Liel Abada joined Celtic in the summer of 2021, becoming one of the first signings of the Postecoglou revolution.

Abada became a menace when attacking the back post and has racked up 28 goals and 20 assists for the Bhoys.

If you go back to the time of Abada’s arrival, he spoke about one player he likes ‘a lot’ – Manor Solomon.

Abada admitted to the Glasgow Evening Times that he wanted to be just like Solomon because he had impressed in European football after leaving Israel.

“One of the players I really like a lot is Manor Solomon, who is now at Shakhtar Donestk,” said Abada. “Like me, he started at Maccabi Petah Tikva and now has success in Europe. He is a good example for me to watch,” he added.

Two years on, Solomon is ironically going to follow in Abada’s footsteps by signing for Postecoglou.

Abada ended up shining under Postecoglou and the hope is that Solomon can do the same with Tottenham once his move is complete.
