Former Leeds United loanee Cameron Borthwick-Jackson has reacted on Instagram after leaving his boyhood club.
The 23-year-old joined the Whites on a season-long loan for the 2017-18 season, but it turned out to be a disaster.
Borthwick-Jackson, who joined Leeds from Manchester United, managed only 82 minutes of Championship football for the Elland Road club during his entire stay in West Yorkshire.
And the defender might’ve referenced his disaster loan spell in a farewell message to the Red Devils fans last night.
On page two of his Instagram post, Borthwick-Jackson wrote: “I’ve had many negative experiences which in turn have become lessons, especially in recent years. It’s revealed some truths in football most people won’t ever see.”
He finished off that segment by adding ‘in due time’ followed by an hourglass emoji.
And interestingly, Leeds winger Helder Costa, who played with Borthwick-Jackson at Wolves, where he also struggled during the 2016-17 season, has ‘liked’ the Instagram post.
It remains to be seen what the player is talking about, but it appears likely that the Whites and perhaps Wolves are indeed the ‘negative experiences’ that he referenced.
Borthwick-Jackson, who also made four appearances in the League Cup for Leeds, started 29 league leagues during another loan at Scunthorpe United the following year, before spending last season on loan at Tranmere Rovers and Oldham Athletic.
