The Bournemouth midfielder played 90 minutes against Arsenal’s fierce rivals, but he was unable to influence the game.

Jack Wilshere was part of a Bournemouth side who secured an excellent 0-0 draw with undefeated title challengers Tottenham on Saturday lunchtime.
It was the England midfielder’s first 90 minutes for a club in over two years, and suggests he may be able to get together a head of steam at the Vitality Stadium, the reason why Arsenal agreed to loan him out.
Though Wilshere will be happy to have played a part in what was a super result for the Cherries, and will hope he has many more full games during his time at the club, in truth the 24-year-old had a tough afternoon.
Below are his statistics from the game:
| Position | Team | Accurate Pass | Passing Accuracy | Touches | Successful Take Ons | Duel Won | Won Tackle | Dispossessed | Appearances | Mins Played | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jack Wilshere | MF | Bournemouth | 23 | 79% | 44 | 0 | 1 | 0 | 2 | 1 | 90 |
The Gunner was arguably the weakest of the central midfielders on display at Dean Court.
A number of times he brought the ball forward but could not accurately offload the ball to a teammate in an attacking position, much to his frustration.
In what was an intense midfield battle, Wilshere struggled to compete with Mousa Dembele and Victor Wanyama, with his teammate Harry Arter and Dan Gosling producing much more impressive performances.

Wilshere had a lower passing percentage than any other midfielder on the pitch, unusual for a player of his technical quality, and was also way behind the Tottenham players when it came to getting on the ball.
Where the Arsenal man really struggled though was the physical battle between the two sides, something that Arter and Gosling excelled in. He won just one duel for possession, and failed to win any tackles. Wilshere’s two midfield teammates by comparison won 7 contests and 6 tackles (Arter) and 9 contests and 3 tackles (Gosling).
Wilshere is certainly developing his match fitness, and he was always going to struggle against a midfield as powerful as Tottenham’s, but the 90 minutes under his belt will undoubtedly do him a world of good.
