Tottenham Hotspur are claimed to be renewing interest in midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, Italian website Tuttomercatoweb reported this week.
Brozovic has long been linked with a move to the Premier League, and came close to a move to Chelsea before the transfer deadline.
He decided against a move, with his agent quoted by The Sun: “He will earn less than he would have if he had signed for Chelsea, but he feels comfortable in Inter, he knows the city and the club will play in Europa League.”
A few months on and Brozovic may be regretting not taking the chance to join Antonio Conte’s all-conquering Chelsea side.
His spell at Inter was disrupted by the sacking of Frank de Boer last Autumn, and his form has dipped, with no goals in 2017.
Last season Brozovic viewed Chelsea as a downwards step due to their lack of European football – Tottenham meanwhile are likely to qualify for Champions League football, which Inter – fifth in Serie A – are currently are on course to miss out on.
