Ferran Torres has spoken out on rumours that he could leave Barcelona having only just moved to the Nou Camp from Manchester City in January – amid reports that Arsenal tabled an offer worth £25.75million in the summer.

Torres, 22, joined Barcelona in a window where Barcelona also signed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Adama Traore. Both have departed since, joining Chelsea and returning to Wolves. Torres had the opportunity to leave, too.

Indeed, reports claim Arsenal tabled an offer of £25.75million to sign Spain international Torres. Obviously, that has been rejected by Barcelona – who would have been taking a £20million hit. But he is struggling for game time.

He clocked up 26 outings during the second half of the season for Barca – having a hand in 13 goals. Scoring seven, creating six. In the summer, Barcelona kept Ousmane Dembele and signed Robert Lewandowski, and Raphinha.

It probably convinced Aubameyang to depart when Chelsea came calling. Torres has started one of five games so far – but he did score against Viktoria Plzen in the Champions League. He has spoken out about his future.

“An exit? I have just arrived at Barça,” Torres said, as quoted by 90Min. “It’s pride a player like this [Lewandowski] is here. There have been other signings, we are fighting to make a competitive team, which is what Barça deserves.”

Torres has spoken out on rumours amid Arsenal reports of a bid

Torres is the exact player Arsenal need. He fits Edu’s transfer blueprint for one. Between the ages of 20 and 25, but experienced. He already has 170 club appearances to his name at Barcelona, Manchester City and Valencia.

He is also a regular with Spain, scoring 13 goals in 28 caps – an incredible record. So, a proper player. In terms of what Arsenal need, he is also ideal. Competition for Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Jesus, but also another winger.

Torres is just as good from the flanks, as he is up top. With Nicolas Pepe leaving for Nice, and Emile Smith-Rowe injured, there is a gaping hole in terms of attacking options at Spurs. Torres would be perfect, but he is staying.
