Reda Khadra’s time with Brighton & Hove Albion is about to come to an end.
According to Fabrizio Romano, writing on his Twitter page, Reda Khadra is on the verge of completing a move from Brighton to Reims. Personal terms have been agreed, and the Seagulls have accepted a bid from the French club, meaning the deal is all but done.
Roberto De Zerbi has clearly come to the conclusion that Khadra wouldn’t have what it takes to make an impact in his first team this season, so the club have opted to cash in on the talented 22-year-old.
Khadra arrived at the Amex Stadium in 2020, initially joining the Brighton under-23s squad. However, he did manage one appearance for the senior side, making his debut as a late substitute in a Premier League clash with Manchester City in January 2021.

Reda Khadra’s path blocked at Brighton
The Germany under-21 international has subsequently had loan spells with Blackburn Rovers, Sheffield United, and Birmingham City. He has gained plenty of Championship experience, and shown flashes of real quality in the second tier, but clearly not enough to convince De Zerbi to make him part of his plans.
The versatile attacker will hope he can kick on with Reims. His pace and impressive technical ability ought to allow him to flourish in Will Still’s side. As for Brighton, they are well stocked in this part of the pitch, with the likes of Kaoru Mitoma, Solly March, and Julio Enciso having blocked Khadra’s path to more first team football.
