William Saliba isn’t a new signing for Arsenal, but he’s certanily acting like one nonetheless.
The Gunners actually signed the towering French defender during the summer of 2019, during Unai Emery’s reign in North London.
However, only now is Saliba a regular fixture in Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal squad, starting all three of their Premier League outings this season – his only appearances in this competition thus far.
And he is proving himself a revelation, not only in defence but at the other end of the field too following his stunner at Bournemouth last Saturday evening.
However, the France international was shown up in Arsenal training by a genuine new signing on Wednesday.
There’s footage doings the rounds on social media of Fabio Vieira scoring an excellent goal at London Colney.

In the video, the Portuguese maestro displays a brilliant turn of pace which leaves Saliba for good, before smashing.
Yes, it’s only a training-ground goal and not much emphasis should be placed on the finish, even if it was brilliant.
But it was rather exciting to see Vieira make Saliba look like an average centre-back when everyone knows right now that he is anything but.
Vieira, who joined Arsenal from Porto during the summer, hasn’t made a competitive appearance under Arteta yet due to injury.
But a debut for the North Londoners is only a matter of time and if he’s as sharp then as he is in training, Premier League defences will be concerned.
