Football London reported in September that Tottenham Hotspur were interested in signing Patson Daka.
Spurs were in the market for another number nine to cover Harry Kane and the Red Bull Salzburg marksman was seemingly on their radar.
In the end, Tottenham went another way and signed Carlos Vinicius on loan from Benfica but, going by Daka’s goal return, a renewed effort might be made in January.
That’s because the 22-year-old is quite simply a frightening talent and one who has been in unbelievable form this season.
Daka scored again on Saturday to make it 12 goals and five assists from 10 games across all competitions.
Son Heung-min and Harry Kane have been incredible for Tottenham this season, scoring 19 goals between them already, but Daka has out-scored both of them individually.
Vinicius enjoyed a decent debut this week, setting up two goals against LASK, but the North Londoners are going to need a long-term and permanent cover for Kane.
And if Daka maintains this red-hot form between now and the next transfer window then maybe, just maybe, Tottenham should go back in for him.
