Pontus Jansson’s superb performances for Leeds United are seeing rising interest from Premier League clubs in his signature.

Swedish newspaper Expressen report Tottenham and Liverpool are interested, along with Chelsea.

Of the trio it is Chelsea who are the only club Leeds should consider dealing with, because of a key player they could stand to gain in return, Tammy Abraham.

Abraham has scored 22 goals on loan at Bristol City this season and looks like a major talent.

If losing Jansson becomes inevitable, then Leeds should demand a deal which allows them to get Abraham for a season, potentially laying the groundwork for him to sign permanently.

A deal would still net Leeds plenty of cash to sign a direct replacement for Jansson, and if there is one thing head coach Garry Monk has shown this year, it is that he has a sharp eye for signing defenders.

Fans should believe in their manager’s ability, a former centre-back, that he can sign a quality replacement if he has £10 million in the bank to do so.

Getting Abraham is a one time shot for Leeds, and once they should seize, also protecting them against interest in striker Chris Wood.
