Aston Villa and Newcastle could now miss out on Arnaut Danjuma to Everton with Villarreal satisfied.
What’s the story?
Well, the Toffees have offered to take the Netherlands international on loan for the rest of the season, although they are not willing to agree to an obligatory purchase option – according to El Periódico Mediterráneo.
Villarreal and Danjuma himself are described as being happy with that offering, as the Spanish giants are keen to trim their wage bill, while they are also satisfied that their £21.3m man can restore his value if he does well on loan.
The Dutchman himself is also keen to leave Villarreal as he struggles for game time under Quique Setién.
This update comes after the Mirror claimed that Unai Emery wants to be reunited with Danjuma at Aston Villa.
Newcastle are also believed to be interested in the Villarreal No.9 – according to Calcio Mercato Web in Italy.
Danjuma has scored six goals in 17 appearances across all competitions so far this season.
However, the 25-year-old was left on the bench for the recent 2-1 win over Valencia, while he was given just one minute of action in the 2-1 win against Real Madrid by Setién.

In our view, it would be excellent business from Everton if they can lure Danjuma to Goodison Park on loan.
It wasn’t long ago that Jürgen Klopp was keen to bring the Dutchman to Liverpool as a replacement for Sadio Mane, such was the level of his performances over in Spain for the Yellow Submarine – as detailed by Goal.
Unfortunately, Emery’s departure from Villarreal appears to have affected his form, although there is no denying that Danjuma has bags of quality.
