SALZBURG, AUSTRIA - SEPTEMBER 30: Patson Daka of RB Salzburg celebrates after scoring his sides third goal during the UEFA Champions League Play-Off second leg match between RB Salzburg and Maccabi Tel-Aviv at Red Bull Arena on September 30, 2020 in Salzburg, Austria. Names have been swirling around, left, right and centre as Tottenham aim to secure the signature of a back-up striker Jose Mourinho and Daniel Levy desperately crave before Monday’s deadline.

From Josh King to Carlos Vinicius, there is perhaps one forgotten name that has gone under the radar – Patson Daka.

The Zambian hitman was working his magic on Wednesday night because his two goals helped RB Salzburg qualify for this season’s Champions League, as posted on their Twitter page.

Football London claimed back in September that Tottenham were keen on the 21-year-old star.

Interestingly enough, Daka’s brace came against Maccabi Tel Aviv, as Tottenham will face off against their rivals tonight, Maccabi Haifa in their bid to qualify for the Europa League group stages.

Daka’s goals came on either side of the half, as Harry Kane will be hoping to follow suit tonight.

Tottenham Hotspur’s summer signings

    £15 million; Southampton

  2. Joe Hart

    Free

  3. Matt Doherty

    £13 million; Wolves

  4. Sergio Reguilon

  5. Gareth Bale

    Loan; Real Madrid

  6. Carlos Vinicius

  7. Joe Rodon

There’s no doubt that Spurs need more added depth in the final third, that was apparent when Mourinho didn’t play a recognised number nine during Tottenham’s League Cup penalty shoot-out win against Chelsea on Tuesday.

If Spurs, or no other top European team, opt to push for Daka’s signature then like a certain Erling Haaland last season, he will be looking to make the noises to those interested parties all the way from Austria.
