According to Fabrizio Romano, Noah Okafor is ‘expected to leave’ RB Leipzig this summer, and in light of Jesse Marsch’s recent appointment at Leeds United, it has to be said that a move to Elland Road would make sense for the Dutchman.
Of course, with the likes of Newcastle and a number of Bundesliga clubs sniffing around Okafor, Leeds would have to stay in the Premier League to get involved in this race, but if they do stay up, bringing this attacker in would make sense.
One thing Leeds desperately need is a new striker. As we’ve seen this season, they have almost zero depth behind Patrick Bamford, and an injury to their star forward has the potential to derail a season.
That’s where Okafor comes in, the striker has 12 goals to his name this season for RB Salzburg, and he looks ready to make the step up to a top league.
So, why would a move to Leeds make sense? Well, Okafor is formerly a favourite of Jesse Marsch’s.
Indeed, the American made sure to utilise the attacker during his time in Austria, and if he is leaving Salzburg this summer, it would make sense for Marsch to ask Victor Orta to have a look at him.
Let’s not forget, Leeds have a history of signing players from RB clubs as well in the past. Jean-Kevin Augustin joined back in 2020, while they chased Brenden Aaronson just last month, so Okafor is bound to be a player they’re aware of.
A move to Leeds would make the world of sense for Okafor.
