Olivier Giroud and Moussa Dembele have both been linked to Everton.

Everton’s upcoming transfer window will be focused around their need for a striker, and already several big names have been linked.

Two options who have been linked are Celtic’s Moussa Dembele and Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud.

Giroud is the proven Premier League option, and likely needs a move to secure a World Cup spot with France, after making only one Premier League start this season.

A move to Everton would be a big opportunity for him, but for Moussa Dembele, it could be even more transformative.

Moussa Dembele celebrates his 2nd goal (Celtic's 4th) during the Betfred Cup Semi-Final at Hampden Park on October 21, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

The Mail reported earlier this season how the Toffees have been weighing up a £30 million move for the hitman.

Dembele is a France under-21 international, but he is beginning to make a push for the first team squad, and his goal against PSG in the Champions League was an impressive strike.

A move to the Premier League would raise his profile, despite Celtic’s involvement in the Europa League.

The Premier League is regarded around the world as stronger than the Scottish Premiership, and if Dembele proves he can cut it in England, his chances of gatecrashing France’s 2018 World Cup squad will be enhanced.

Olivier Giroud of Arsenal looks on during the Carabao Cup Fourth Round match between Arsenal and Norwich City at Emirates Stadium on October 24, 2017 in London, England.

Moussa Dembele getting picked could backfire on one man in particular – Olivier Giroud.

Giroud could be left to rue sitting on the bench for Arsenal while he sees Dembele score for Everton and seize his spot in the France squad.

And if he was content to gamble on his chances at Arsenal improving and it backfires, he would only have himself to blame for snubbing the Toffees.
