Reported Leeds United target Demarai Gray has been left out of Leicester City’s Europa League squad.

The Telegraph claimed Leeds had made a late move for Gray, but the deal fell through due to complications at the last minute.

And the £20 million winger (Daily Mail) may be more disappointed than ever now that he didn’t manage to seal a switch to Elland Road.

Gray has been excluded from Leicester’s European squad, which shows just how far he has fallen down the pecking order with Brendan Rodgers side.

According to the Leicester Mercury the decision was taken as Rodgers just doesn’t know where the winger’s future lies, with the England under-21 international having under a year left on his contract.

Whether Leeds will go back in for Gray, if he does become available on a free transfer, now remains to be seen.

The Whites ended up bringing in Raphina on deadline day to strengthen their attacking options and reduce their need for a winger.

But Gray would still be an exciting addition to Leeds’ squad, given his untapped potential.

And Gray may be looking back at what might have been now, after missing out on a move to Elland Road over the summer.
