Newcastle United and Southampton have both been linked with Hull City’s Jarrod Bowen.

There may be bad news for any Newcastle United or Southampton fans hoping for a cut-price Jarrod Bowen deal.

Both Newcastle and Southampton were linked with January moves for Bowen, the Hull City winger over the weekend (Daily Express).

It was reported that the 22-year-old is valued at £20 million, although with his contract due to expire at the end of this season it would be reasonable to think that figure could decrease between now and the New Year.

But as explained by The Hull Daily Mail, the Championship have an option to extend Bowen’s deal by a further 12 months, whenever they see fit.

And that would leave Hull in a strong position to resist any low-ball offers that may arrive, from Newcastle, Southampton or anyone else, in the next five months.

But with 46 goals or assists from 94 Championship appearances, Bowen could be worth splashing out for regardless.
