Aston Villa central defender Tyrone Mings has said on Twitter that Leeds United were the better team at Villa Park on Friday evening.

Villa suffered a 3-0 loss at the hands of Leeds at home in the Premier League.

Patrick Bamford was the star of the show for the West Yorkshire club, as the English striker scored all three goals in the second half.

Mings has admitted on Twitter that Leeds were the better team, but the 27-year-old centre-back – who cost the Villans £20 million in transfer fee when they made his loan move from Bournemouth permanent in the summer of 2019, as reported by Sky Sports – is confident that Dean Smith’s side will bounce back.

Bouncing back

Leeds were the better team against Villa, who simply failed to cope with the energy and intensity of the visiting team in the second half.

However, the Villans have done well this season, and they will be determined to bounce back and return to winning ways.

Meanwhile, Leeds head coach Marcelo Bielsa has praised Luke Ayling for his performance in central defence against Villa.

Bielsa told The Yorkshire Evening Post about Ayling: “He was quick, he was agile, he defended well, he headed well, he used the ball well, he transmitted serenity to the rest of the team.”
