Premier League giants Arsenal have enquired about the availability of Inter Milan defender Federico Dimarco on the back of an impressive debut season at the San Siro, as reported by Tuttomercatoweb.
Talk about unfinished business.
Dimarco initially walked away from Inter back in 2017 after managing just one league appearance for the Nerazzuri. It’s fair to say his second spell in blue-and-black has been far more memorable.
Returning to the San Siro after an excellent stint at an overachieving Hellas Verona, the attack-minded left-back contributed two goals and five assists to the cause as Inter fought valiantly to retain their Scudetto crown.
A fight they would eventually lose, bruised and bloodied as rivals AC Milan claim the title.
According to TMW, Dimarco’s performances have caught the eye of an Arsenal side in the market for a new left-back. The Gunners are also hot on the heals of Bologna’s Aaron Hickey and Udinese’s Nahuel Molina amid doubts about the suitability and reliability of Nuno Tavares.
Arsenal want Inter Milan’s Federico Dimarco
A set-piece specialist, Dimarco remains a key part of Simone Inzaghi’s plans going forward at Inter. The 24-year-old former Italy U21 international recently extended his contract until 2026 too.
But faced with a big-money offer – somewhere in the region of £20 million – and Inter will have a difficult decision to make.

Cash-strapped Inter are under pressure to cash in on at lesat one of their star players this summer. Nicolo Barella has admirers, as does Lautaro Martinez, while Antonio Conte would love to reunite with the cultured, left-footed centre-half Alessandro Bastoni at Tottenham Hotspur.

Arsenal’s interest in Dimarco, Hickey and Molina – the Gunners also looked at Mathias Oliveira before Napoli moved into pole position – means Tavares’ future appears to be in real doubt after a difficult debut season beset with errors and inconsistency.
Perhaps a short-term loan move away from the goldfish bowl of North London is the best possible solution.
