The Spaniard would have signed if Leeds United were promoted.
Leeds’ Alfonso Pedraza celebrates scoring their third goal
Leeds concluded a deal to sign the Spanish talent Alfonso Pedraza on loan in January. He arrived after a brilliant first half of the season on loan with Segunda Liga side Lugo.
He also had the option to join on a permanent deal should Leeds earn promotion. The Yorkshire Evening Post reported that fee as being in the region of £8.5 million, but they came up short and that clause expired.
Pedraza, who featured 14 times for Leeds scoring once, was still on their radar. It was reported by Spanish publication AS that Leeds were hopeful of having Pedraza on loan again next season.
However, they were rejected as Villarreal plan to loan him out to a La Liga side.

It now looks as though that might be happening. It is reported by Super Deporte that Levante have made a bid to loan the player next season. The report claims Les Granotes, who won the Spanish second division last season, were keen on signing him last summer but he ended up at Lugo instead.
Now they have been promoted to the top-flight they are in a great position to secure his services and are very hopeful of doing so.

As for Leeds, despite new chairman Andrea Radrizzani’s good links with Villarreal, a move to West Yorkshire appears entirely unlikely.
