The former Brazil international – who cost PSG £200 million when he joined from Barcelona in 2017, according to The Daily Star – has been impressed with the football played by Liverpool.
Neymar has said that Klopp’s side will be “very competitive again” during the 2020-21 campaign.
Neymar told The Daily Star: “Over the last two seasons Liverpool have played some of the best football in Europe.
“Last season winning the Champions League and this season winning a league was strong, because they won the Premier League so comfortably.
“Their coach has built a strong team and next season I am sure they will be very competitive again.”
Big praise
Neymar is one of the best players in the world and will be a key figure in PSG’s quest to win the Champions League final against Bayern Munich on Sunday.
The Brazilian was a star during his time at Barcelona, and his admiration for Liverpool and Klopp does mean a lot.
It shows just how highly respected and admired Liverpool are at the moment by world-class players.
The Reds won the Premier League title this past season with ease, and were head and shoulders above the rest of the teams in the English top flight, including Manchester City.
True, the Merseyside outfit did not do great in the Champions League in 2019-20, but they won Europe’s premier club competition in 2018-19.
