Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with Manchester United defender Harry Maguire, and David Ornstein’s latest comments on the England international duo are very encouraging for the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium faithful.
According to Football Transfers, Tottenham Hotspur are among the clubs interested in signing Harry Maguire from Premier League rivals Manchester United in the summer transfer window.
Aston Villa and Everton are also claimed to be keen on the £200,000-a-week (SalarySport) defender.
The report has claimed that United manager Erik ten Hag is willing to cash in on the 30-year-old, who himself is ready to leave Old Trafford after falling down the pecking order in the team.
The Athletic journalist David Ornstein has shares his inside information regarding Maguire on Rio Ferdinand’s YouTube channel.
The well-known and well-respected journalist has claimed that Maguire and Kane are good friends from their time in the England squad.
Both Maguire and Kane are regulars and senior players for England.
Ornstein has said that there is no chance of a swap deal between United and Spurs over Kane and Maguire.

The Athletic journalist said: “I think Tottenham will really respect what level of play he is, and also the character and leadership he would bring to any camp.
“He is good friends with Harry Kane from international level. I don’t think this is an equation of one in and one out or a swap of sorts.
“I think if he was to go somewhere like that, it would be to play together ideally. I am not aware of it being advanced with Tottenham or anybody else.”
Could Harry Maguire join Tottenham Hotspur?
In our view, Manchester United defender Harry Maguire could join Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window.
If the 30-year-old is not going to get much playing time at Old Trafford, then there is no point in the England international defender staying at United.
True, Tottenham will not play in the UEFA Champions League next season, but they are a massive club who regularly challenge for the Premier League top four.
And Maguire could flourish under new Tottenham head coach Ange Postecoglou, just as Cameron Carter-Vickers did at Celtic.
