Ashley Williams has said on Rio Ferdinand’s YouTube channel that Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is not as mobile as he once was, and has said that Manchester United should sign Ivan Toney instead in the summer transfer window.

The former Everton defender has said that if Manchester United are to pick between Tottenham striker Kane and Brentford striker Toney, then they should choose the latter.

Williams has given his reasons why, as you can read below.

Both Kane and Toney have been linked with Manchester United.

The Daily Mail have claimed that the Red Devils are keen on the £200,000-a-week (SalarySport) Kane.

Earlier in the season, The Mirror reported that United were monitoring Toney.

Ashley Williams picks Brentford’s Ivan Toney over Tottenham’s Harry Kane

William said: “Honesty, I don’t think he is a better player, but I would take Toney.

“I don’t think he is a better player than Harry Kane, but it takes a certain system to get the best out of Harry Kane. I don’t think Harry Kane can go and play for any team and do what he does.

“I don’t think he is as mobile as he once was. He is good, he is going to score goals, but if I am signing someone, I am going to take Toney.”

Kane over Toney everyday

We would beg to differ with Ashley Williams.

We respect his opinion. After all, Williams is a former Premier League defender.

However, we think that Kane is better than Toney.

Yes, Toney is younger than Kane and is doing extremely well for Brentford.

The Englishman has proved himself in the Premier League in the Bees, and he was successful in the Championship as well.

However, Kane is at a different level altogether.

He is world class.

The striker has been scoring goals consistently for years and is now the all-time record scorer for Tottenham.

And he could end up as the top scorer of all time in the Premier League.
