Glenn Murray has backed Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane to join Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United in the summer transfer window, saying that Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United will not be an option for him.
The former Brighton and Hove Albion striker has said on BBC Sport that Kane will stay in the Premier League and has tipped him to join Manchester United at the end of the season.
Murray has noted that Manchester City will now not want to sign the £200,000-a-week (The Sun) striker because they have Erling Haaland.
The BBC Sport pundit does not think that Newcastle will be an option for the England international striker, outlining why he would be better off moving to Manchester United instead.

Murray said: “I think Harry Kane will stay in the Premier League. Ultimately, he will want to break Alan Shearer’s Premier League goalscoring record and he can very much do that with his age and how many goals he’s scored.
“I can’t see Man City wanting him now they have got Haaland. I doubt Newcastle would be an option for him so Man Utd are the ones where you think the shoe fits. It’s a huge football club.
“They are on the cusp of coming back to something they used to be. The one thing they miss is that out and out goalscorer which Harry is, but I also think Harry’s got much, much more to give.”

In our view, if Harry Kane decided to leave Tottenham Hotspur at the end of the season, then Newcastle United could be an option for him if they finish in the Premier League top four.
Yes, Manchester United are a bigger club than Newcastle, but Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy will sell Kane to the highest bidder if he does decide to let him go.
Newcastle could easily outbid the Red Devils.
After all, they are owned by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF).
Yes, Newcastle have Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak as their two main strikers, but Kane is at a whole new level.
He is world class.
We believe that if Newcastle have the chance to sign Kane, then PIF will do everything they can to get him.
