20-year-old Tottenham gem likened to Son now deletes Spurs from his Instagram with exit likely

Tottenham wonderkid Romaine Mundle has strangely deleted any mention of Spurs from his Instagram account as a potential exit looms.

The Londoner becomes a free agent in a matter of weeks – June 30th to be exact – when his contract expires, and Tottenham are yet to make any progress over a renewal.

Now – after his interesting Instagram activity – it seems Romaine Mundle could be heading for the exit door.

What’s the story?

Well, the 20-year-old had previously written in his Instagram bio that he played for Tottenham, while he also used to follow Spurs.

Now – however – there is no mention whatsoever of the north Londoners in his bio, which has been deleted entirely, while he has decided to unfollow Tottenham’s official page.

Mundle has also deleted his profile picture, which originally showed him playing for Spurs.

It comes after Fabrizio Romano claimed that RSC Anderlecht and Standard Liege are interested in signing the winger.

The reliable Italian journalist adds that a contract has been offered which includes first-team guarantees.

That appears to have turned Mundle’s head as he deletes any mention of Tottenham from his social media pages.

Of course, some may question the significance of that – specifically the older readers out there.

However, social media means a lot to young people like Mundle nowadays, and it is telling that he has decided to remove all mention of Spurs from his account.

Tottenham could regret not giving Mundle a chance

It is bizarre to us that Spurs have not given Mundle his first-team debut yet.

As recently detailed here on HITC Football, the youngster has enough talent to make Tottenham regret ignoring him, just like Noni Madueke did at PSV Eindhoven before securing a £29m move to Chelsea.

A number of gems have emerged from Premier League academies in recent years and risen to stardom, such as Marc Guehi and Romeo Lavia, so there is no reason why Mundle cannot follow in their footsteps.

Unfortunately for Tottenham, it seems as if the wonderkid who has been likened to Heung-min Son could now fulfil his potential away from N17.
